We will be stopping in St. Thomas for one day in early May. As far as I can tell, five other cruise ships will also be there that day. Will it be possible to get ferry over to St Johns, then take a taxi out to a relatively quiet beach (with good snorkeling and somewhere to eat) and get back by 6PM?

From what I've read, Cinnamon Bay is beautiful, but crowded. Salt Pond, sounds quiet, but may be difficult to get back from in time.

Are there water taxi's that can take us from the port to a remote spot, then pick us up at the end of the day?

Thanks for your help!

No ferries to St.Johns, as that is a city in Antigua and would take forever to get there. However, we DO have a ferry to take you to the island of St. John (no"S"). 🙂 Haha! Forgive me, but I can be so anal! hee-hee!

I would recommend going to Secret Harbor for the day, or to Sapphire Beach. Sapphire will be much more crowded than SH, but unless it is a Sunday, 'more crowded' doesn't mean many people. SH has great snorkeling, a great restaurant and pretty much the only people you will see are the ones staying there. Maybe a 20 minute ride by taxi from Havensight. And no problem getting a cab back.
