I believe they all will want you to book for 3 day minimum. If you are only visiting STJ for the day, perhaps renting on STT and taking ferry over is an option. The last resort would be to wait until you arrive in STJ and walk up to the Cruz Bay local agencies (Conrad, C&C, etc.) and ask if they have one for the day. They might want to rent it rather than have it sit on the lot not making money.

Chris is right on the mark. The St. John rental agencies will rent for a day... they just don't take reservations for 1 day rentals. You have to take your chance and walk up to the counter and rent what they have in the lot. The agencies are all pretty much in the same general area of Cruz Bay, so its quite easy to walk from one to the next. If it should happen that none have cars, well have a back up plan (taxi tour, hiking, couple beaches).

Thanks for the input everyone, i'll follow your advice and try and pick something up onsite when i'm there.

Any idea which day might be better for that - I'll be there all day Fri., Sat, and Sun. - leave Monday.

Sunday may be an issue. Try Friday and if they don't have anything for Friday, they may have something for Saturday.

Sat. 5th - 3 ships (STT), 1 at St. John.

Sun. 6th - 4 ships (STT), 1 at St. John.

I vote for Friday!

Renting a car for the day is popular for cruisers that want to do their own thing, try to beat the cruisers to the car rental agencies on Sat. & Sun. if you choose to go those days. In other words get there first thing in the am.
