We are staying on STT and plan a day trip to STJ as we did last year. Last year we tried to rent a car on STJ in advance and were told that the STJ rental places wouldn't reserve in advance for one day. It was basically first come, first served. Does anyone know if that is still standard practice? If so, we'll pack up and leave early.

Thanks.

Still standard. I just rented with Conrad Sutton for a week on STJ, and due to a cruise trip this summer will be returning for a day. Asked about the possibility of renting. He said they're usually available, and he would take a reservation a day or two ahead of time. You might consider making a couple of phone calls in the day or two prior to your trip.

What was your experience renting from Conrad Sutton?

That is the agency we are considering to rent a Jeep Liberty from. Most agencies are all the same price, CS offers a 5% discount and seems to be one of the only agencies with a Web site.

Thanks again.

Thanks. I'll plan on giving the a call when I hit STT. If not I'll take my chances.

Dr.Draydel,
Here are some other web addresses. We've rented from St, John Car Rental before and liked them.

Everything was fine. Parking in Cruz Bay is difficult, we ended up going with him since you could park in his lot when in town. Only took advantage of it once. I guess there are ways/locations to park if you know the drill, but it was our first time there and we took the easy route.

I always take the car that I rented in STT over on the car ferry.
