Hi, you stated you stayed in Orchid villas twin, is that Oleander? I am scheduled to stay in Oleander in late Jan 06 for 9 days and was disturbed when I read about the recent incident there. I have stayed in 2 other villas in that area and never had a problem and liked them for their quiet location (which also may make them targets unfortunately) In a different vein, how did you find Oleander, condition, cleanliness etc, was the pool adequate size wise and does the area get enough sun during the day? Thanks for any info you can provide.

we stayed at olleander last feb/march. no problems. but like most homes in sj i dont think it would be too hard to break in. lock your doors, use the safe , do not leave out(valuable stuff...cash etc). we slept with the ac on ..so we could keep doors and windows closed...sorry

Hi Kevin,

Yes we were in Oleander in October; it was our second time in that villa. The condition of the villa was fantastic: super clean, very well stocked, and even a little renovated since we've been there last. There is fresh paint, new, nice quality linens, remodeled kitchen w/ a new stove & microwave, a new gas grill, new dishes, etc. We were very impressed. The pics of the villa on the rental agency sites (ie: caribbeanvilla.com) are a little outdated. So if you like it from those pics you'll love it in person!

The pool was the perfect size for the two of us. It is big enough for two people to float on rafts in it. There is fantastic sun on the entire pool/deck area, yet the table by the grill is nicely shaded all day.

If I have to have a "complaint" about it I'd say that the water pressure in the main house's shower sucks...but we just used the one in our master bedroom and it's a great garden shower.

Bigboy's post is right on target. There are locked safes in both master bedrooms. All of the doors have handle locks and deadbolts that go into the floor. Perhaps the best security measure on top of that: Light that baby up at night; there are tons of exterior lights. (We just covered the door windows w/ beach towels at night to darken the room.)

Sorry this is so rambly. If you would like, I'd be more than happy to email you a few pics of the villa that we took while we were there & answer any other questions you may have!
