Officially less than 30 days away! Gonna camp at Cinnamon bay for three nights then over to Maho for 4 nights. Carry on only. Going to be a minimum style camping trip with 3 daughters for spring break.

Can not wait!

Gonna do a day hike to Newfound Bay.

I just had a thought.

This will be my first trip during busy season. Will it be crowded there? I am used to being alone on the more secluded beaches, and just a few people on Maho.

Be prepared for more people and perhaps a little more 'work' to find isolation but don't let that ruin your trip. You will probably be more surprised by the North Shore swells than the increased numbers. Get to know Salt Pond and Lameshurs.

Swells are gonna be strange. Has been flat water every time I have been there.

Wish I had looked around a bit better. There are some really inexpensive cottages around the Lameshur area.

What the heck, I am wading through 1.5 feet of snow here in east Tennessee. Bring it on!!!

Thanks!

Ric

Wish I was 30 days away. We are not going until may. Our very first stay was at Maho, and it was great. We have also stayed in their condos, and that was fine but an even longer walk to the beach and longer climb back up. The community feel is also really great at Maho. Maybe you have already been there since it sounds like you have previously visited St. John. You never know , it could still be possible to rent that house/cottage if that's what you would really want to do. One time we planned to spend two weeks on St. John--one in the condos at Maho and the next week at Condordia. About a week before we were to leave St. Louis, Concordia let us know that their pool was unavailable so we were able to cancel there without any problems and found a house at the last minute.

NOW just two weeks away. I have been to Maho with different combinations of daughters. This time it will be with my three college girls. It is gonna be fun.
My comment on the house was about staying on the south side, but the girls are really looking forward to the glass blowing and socializing at Maho, so all is good
We have a jeep so all is good.
I am gonna take my Hennessey hammock so might just head in to the park for one night alone in the wilderness for an adventure.
