I cant find my last post about when in October to visit St. John, but someone responded and said that the end of October starts to get busy I believe. Why does it get busy then and isn't that still slow time? Is there a yearly carnival at that time? Actually the end of October was when I was thinking would be a good time to visit. I'am hoping for no major storms and decent temps at this time.

October is one of our favorite months to go to STJ
Water is definitely warm
It can be quiet the first half of the month - which is good for me
But as the month gets closer to November things start picking up

You can remove you weather worry by getting trip insurance

Compromise is a wonderful thing...
Personally I would held out for two trips to STJ - But I am pretty stubborn
One to chill out before I have to go to Mickey land, and one to unwind after I get back.

I said that because from mid-August to late September the islands can be very sleepy. Many owners will close for their holiday. Because of weather concerns tourism is usually at its lowest.

By early October things begin to come back alive and by late October everything is up and running yet the crowds are still minimum. The water is warm and nice. You may experience a little more showers, but they usually do not last long.

lmc-
I think I remember corresponding w/you about a late October trip, which has now been changed to 11/07-11/14. It's a wonderful time to visit. The week you're choosing, around Halloween?, is a lot of fun as well. Great parties all over the island, and not too much congestion on the beaches.
Don't fret!
It'll be wonderful!

Ok I get it now. Early October we might run into some home's, stores closed due to the weather and vacations. So if plan on the later of October everything should be up and running again. Well, we can do this plus I think hubby and I came up with a compromise with St. John and his dumb Disney obsession. We will come to St. John and he gets his Disney trip in December. I think I'm getting screwed on that deal because we cant stay for a whole week on St. John because of both trips and $. I heard from villa management to see if I had a date in mind and for a deposit to hold it. I will try different dates in October with the airlines to see what day we can fly for the best deal and plan accordingly.
