Well, the bar is on the back of the ship, and where people jump is off the upper deck in the back. The main part of the boat where people eat lunch (and where the restroom is) is forward and on the main deck. So kids aren't necessarily exposed to the nude jumping if they just go there with their parents to eat lunch.

The Willy-T doesn't advertise itself as a family place. It does as well as it does by encouraging raunchy behavior. It is what it is and it makes no bones about it. Some days--or times of day--are quite tame, others get quite wild. Some people love it, others want nothing to do with it. Some people enjoy it at certain stages of their lives, but not at others. The Willy-T is not about to police behavior. Parents have the responsibility of deciding if it's an appropriate place to take kids.

Oh yeah, I totally agree Nick, but I would think that most parents would know what CAN happen at Willie T's, if not they're in for a big surprise!! In fact, I heard about it too late or else I would of been there as a spectator, not as a jumper of course...lol

A lot of people keep their suits on and just jump for the fun of it. However, when I was there a couple of people were quite openly tokin' on a joint on the upper deck, so it is that kind of party boat atmosphere for sure.

JUMPING OFF OF A DIVING DECK NAKED? THERE WOULD HAVE TO BE A WHOLE LOT OF BUDWEISER INVOLVED. LOL STILL SOUNDS LIKE INNOCENT FUN.

KEEP GIVING ME IDEAS ON HOW TO SPEND OUR DAYS 🙂 I'D LIKE TO LEAVE THE ROOM AT SOME POINT 🙂

Maybe the owners of Willie T's are so rich that they don't think they have to observe local laws. In both USVI and BVI waters they're in deep cah-cah letting people smoke doobies on any deck - immediate confiscation of boat, period.

There are a few tour operators out of the USVI who take people there but there are many who work along with the hotels who stopped taking people there after complaints about lewdness and nudeness and with no restrictions even when children were present.

Back in the old days, the Willie T was a really fun place for everyone and it was one of the hot spots for the sailing community, both young and old. If there was the occasional, "jump off the bow topless for a drink," it was all done circumspectly and in fun! The food was good, the ambiance was great.

I guess the rowdiness and challenge and the curiosity of visitors became so popular as the years went on that I think it's rather become a facsimile of itself. Just my opinion but I often regret the passing of gentler but still enormously fun times.

By the way, Jennifer, would you please cease and desist from posting in upper case? Upper case is SHOUTING and you make my head ring and give me HEADACHES!!!

Cheers to all!

Doobie notwithstanding, it was actually pretty tame when I was there. Nobody jumped naked (several people jumped in their swimsuits), there were boats tied up 4 deep on both sides of the ship, and there were lots of kids and families there. The food was pretty good, too. I was quite happy, however, when they quit playing rap music and put on some other tunes. The entertainment, if you can call it that, consisted of watching one fat guy try unsuccessfully to climb the ladder out of the water and back onto the dock after jumping. He was just too fat (or maybe too fat and too drunk) to haul himself out. His buddy finally came to the rescue. Ugh.
