Question: How's the drive from Duffy's back to Sapphire Beach Hotel at night?
Islander - care to offer directions from Sapphire to Duffy's??? 🙂
Or else I'll just ask at the hotel when I get there.

Most importantly, are there some street lights? Is it easy to get lost at night? We won't have any male companions, so I'm not sure how wise it would be for 3 girls to attempt to drive at night in an unfamiliar place.

Hello Bibi,

Duffy's is in Red Hook. So basically when exiting Sapphire you turn left and head toward Red Hook. Takes a couple minutes. You'll know you are in Red Hook when you get there, it’s a small commercial area; gas station, grocery stores, St. John Ferry, restaurants... Duffy's is on the right side in the Red Hook Shopping Center parking lot.

There are street lights. Getting lost is possible. If you want to drink then I would suggest taking a taxi when going to bars or else have a designated driver... alcohol, night, not familiar with the area isn't a good combo.

Sapphire is real close to Red Hook so no problems there. Don't park way off from where you are going, and park somewhere well lit. You can drive to downtown and Havensight during the day a couple times - that way you will be a little familiar with the route and then venture out to restaurants and bars in those areas.

Have fun.

Bibi its so close you will be embarrassed you asked but if you are nervous about the drive there are always cabs to shuttle you back and forth for i think $3 per person one way. when are you visiting?

It's so close you'll be tempted to walk...but the road isn't too safe for walking (no sidewalk, overgrowth on the sides, etc). Also, the walk down from the entrace of the Sapphire resort property (top of a hill) to the beachfront where the resort sits is almost as long as the distance to Duffy's....
