I am planning to get married on St. John in August. It will be a small, evening wedding with a few friends attending. Following the ceremony, I would like for us to go somewhere for dinner, drinks, and dancing. An informal setting is preferred. Do you know of any local establishments that could accomodate us on a Tuesday evening? **Elise**

I work at chloe and bernard's. It is a fine dining restaurant but we are very nice. There is not many informal other than Banana Deck and a few others. Your attire at either place is ok if it is shorts and shirts or what have you. The price range might be a little more at Choe's than at banana deck but not more than 5-10 per person. Chloes also has live music many nights and a large wine selection. Our Chef started fine dining on St. John. Even the "fine dining" restaurants are not "formal" in the sense of dress codes on St. John.
Good Luck,

Elise,

If you want really informal and fun there are several spots in Cruz Bay. Perhaps after the wedding you might have a nice dinner and then go out. Duffy's Love Shack in Cruz Bay is fun, cool drinks... very informal. There is Woodys but it is very small and might be too informal for your group. There are several restaurant, Chris mentioned two good ones, that you can go to for drinks.

There is a thread on this board from last week about spots in Coral Bay. Not sure where your wedding is - or which area would be closer for you to go to.

The reason I left out Woody's is because it is a bar gril that is fashioned after the Hooters chain. Instead of hooter girls there is the Woody's girls. All women working out front with tight shorts and tops. I love woody's dont get me wrong at all. But for a get together after a wedding, i wouldnt recommend. Duffy's is a hookup joint. They have the tacky monkey mugs and anything you can think of to make a glass to hold a drink. It is kind of tacky....more of a danceclub atmosphere. Hope i helped.

Chris is right about those two bars. Really depends on what you are looking for. Bachelor and Bachelorette parties perhaps Duffys and Woodys - LOL. And for the wedding after party then head to a informal dinner and drinks at one the restuarants suggested.
