I noticed a lot of locals post here, so I would like to get some recommendations for a beach to have our wedding ceremony on. We've been told Lindquist is very nice, but I've seen pictures of other beautiful beaches on the island. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Until Lindqvist comes under the management of the Magens Bay Authority and thus will be guaranteed clean with nice faciities, etc. I wouldn't recommend it.

You can do a search on this forum to see what others have done but, off the top of my head, Magens Bay is very popular and Secret Harbour is another option. I'm sure others will have suggestions. You might also want to check into wedding coordinators - again, you can search this forum for suggestions - as they certainly make the planning much easier. Good luck with everything- cheers!

Hello. My cousin just got married the end of May on Hawksnest Beach. It was beautiful. If you want I could e-mail you some of the pictures I took. But, the photographer's pictures where even better then mine. I've been to St.John many times & Hawksnest is also one of my favorite beaches. The best to you. Felicia

I've seen several weddings at Limetree Beach and also heard that Sapphire is considered a great site for a wedding.

Hi there,
Magen's Bay is about the most popular!
Other beaches are:
Sapphire
Bolongo
Lime Tree- now known as Bluebeard's Beach Club
Lindberg, by Emerald Beach Resort (and is prettier by Beach Comber)
You definitely would be better off using a wedding planner, it works out cheaper than hiring your own people individually! Do a search!
Congratulations!

Congratulations! Another idea. Honeymoon Beach on Water Island frequently has wedding ceremonies and there's a large covered pavillion that folks use for their receptions. Heidi Erwig, Water Island resident, is a wonderful chef and caters many events including weddings. And, the WI Civic Association has chairs, tables, etc. for the pavillion. Beautiful beach with coconut palm trees, westerly view for gorgeous sunsets, calm water, clean, bathroom facilities.

There have been several weddings on Water Island--Honeymoon Beach. It is a beautiful spot and away from crowds that might get in the way.

For couples that need to house several people-- there are very nice private houses for rent. We own two houses we offer for rental. These houses are close together for the groups can be near to each other. However both houses are very private. Take a look at www.slowmocean.com for info on the island and the houses.

Water Island is a great place. Very private. Yet it is easy to go to St Thomas for shopping.

me and my wife just got married August 3rd on Cinnamon Bay beach. It was in the evening (6pm) and was perfect! There were maybe two other people on the beach, the sun lighting was great, and I officially endorse it.

Honeymoon on st. john is my personal favorite. My sister will be getting married there in January of 2008. Not easy to get to but well worth it.

My wife and I were married at Magen's Bay with about 20 friends who made the journey down for the week long celebration. We rented 2 large villas near each other and had a fabulous time! We wouldn't change a thing - not even the little man in the red speedo (who looked like he was right out of a kung fu movie) running right through the ceremony! We ran away from everything but the people that mattered most and had the time of our lives. The same group is coming back this year for our 5th anniversary. The only suggestion that I can make is hire a planner and let them plan everything (and I mean everything), enjoy the people and the moment, and don't let the imperfections bother you.
Have Fun, Buster

P.S. One more piece of advice, If you and your friends like to partake in libations, get married at the beginning of your stay - not the end!
