Has anyone had the privilege of getting any ink done by Pat at Octopus ink on St John. My fiance and I are tying the knot next week at Point Pleasant and are going to get some more tattoos. We have had pleasure of getting some artwork done at Jimmy Buffham's in the past but are thinking about trying out Pat and her Asian influence this time with some Koi. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

While I have no info about her, I would think that getting a tattoo on an island would put a dent into any beach fun. Trying to keep it dry and clean on the beach would be a big pain, IMO.

I agree Island....get a tattoo and they don't want you to get sun and certainly not keep it so wet. I agree.

If I was getting one there I'd definitely plan it for the last day of the vacation. Also might want to give some thought to where on my body I was getting it, since I'd be spending several hours sitting on a plane and the site is going to be tender. I use a lot of sunblock any way (history of skin cancer and all), but I'd be particularly careful about getting too much sun on the area to be tattooed.

You couldn't ask for a better artist than Pat. Her work is fantastic, she's professional and she won't stop until you are happy with the piece. I've seen a lot of her work and I know her well. By all means go for it. Waiting till the last day is a great idea... keep it out of the water sun and sand.
Have fun!
