Hello All and good day to you!

I have found lots of useful information on these boards already, but I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at Arco Iris villa,it is operated by the Sheckleton's.

I would like to know what type of condition it looks tobe in and in general, anyone's experieneces there?

Also, my fiancee and I will be arriving the last week of April and staying through the first week of May (2 weeks!) , we can't wait as it is our first trip to the USVI. I have been to Aruba once for 10 days and really enjoyed it, for the most part!!

Thanks in advance...

So 50 views and no responses, can anyone please relay and info onthi villa. I have to say though, I have been researching St. John's for a month and have gotten increasingly excited with visiting.

However, Iam beginning to have doubts about spending my honeymoon here, I have read so many posts about rude and volatile natives that I am starting to wonder if it is worth it. Especially with the killings and robberies recently. Don't get me wrong, I grew up in a poor area of a big city, so I know how to avoid trouble and "use common sense" but some of things I have been reading seem to be quite random and blatant against tourists.

Any comments would be appreciated, I need to make a decision and I've become increasingly torn.

Thanks...:-)

I haven't been to or seen Arco Iris but it looks great on the website. I'm sure it will be better than you expect so not to worry.

About the safety thing.....I wouldn't worry about that either. I've been going to STJ for ~15 years and even sent my daughter and son-in-law to STJ for their honeymoon. You're gonna LOVE IT.

With the wedding coming up I'm sure you have a jitters about lots of things but DO NOT WORRY ABOUT STJ. Really and truly you've made a good choice and you're gonna LOVE IT! It's way better than Aruba!! IMHO

Never seen or been to the villa you're referencing. STJ is very, very safe.

I always chuckle when I think of all of those agents/greeters walking me into those $2M - $3M villas and saying "here are the keys if you feel like you need to lock it, nobody ever does" and I never have.

We talk about the crime because it is so rare and makes a big splash when it does happen.

Where else would you go that would be safer?

I agree about the saftey aspect. We are on STJ now (Aria Villa) and having been to St. Thomas and St. Martin (twice) feel much safer here on STJ.

Recommend Penn's car rental, their parking lot is very central, large and you can park there anytime you go to town and walk everywhere important except Starfish Market.

We really love the Coral Bay end of the island and thus the Ajax Peak location of Aria. 5 minutes to Coral Bay, close to North Shore road. This end of the island a little more quiet, less hectic, which is what we were looking for as we were escaping DC...
