Hello,
I really need some help trying to find the best time to go on Disney cruise with my 5 and 7 yr and hubby. We have kind of a tight schedule will pulling my kids out of school for so long and trying to go when it will be reasonably priced and some decent weather. It is so vague to me when everything is July to Nov, hurricanes, so if i hit august, rain,?? sept, rain?? oct ?? nov. do i do the beginning of it july/august or the tail end of it, end of oct/nov. Wow this is just so all confusing for me, I'm a Cal. girl so I know nothing about VI . Any help, advice, suggestions are so welcome from passed visitors, do i do st. croix side, or st. maarten island. I know I sound like a goof, but again, clueless on VI.

Thank you all so much!

If you could do May before Memorial Day, Oct/Nov before Thanksgiving, or early June, you should be fine weather-wise and maybe price-wise except for early June (many families are traveling then, so cruises tend to be higher). Avoid any holidays.

If it's any consolation, fewer hurricanes are predicted for 2009 (or did they lower the number???), anyway, hurricanes rarely interfere with vacations. The advantage of a cruise ship is it can change course and avoid most major storms, but the passengers don't get the ports on their itinerary (or they may change the order in which the ports are visited).

Prices seem to be very good now, so I'd try to make a decision quickly to lock in a good rate.

Hi, we were at WDW in March and when researching the trip I checked into the cruise, I think that if it is a shorter cruise you sail to the Bahamas. I
I have heard that the trip out of Fl to the Bahamas is really rough. If you are going for the longer trip , you need to check into which islands are visited. We have family that cruise a lot and if traveling during hurricane season, they steer around the storms and you might end up at another destination. The Cruise ship at dock looks like a lot of fun.but I barely made it 4 days at Disney before we headed out to the beach! We are beyond spending days with a bunch of screaming fighting kids and it is worse when we leave the hotel room! Regards, Donna

We have done Disney Cruise Line twice and loved it both times. We have four kids with wide range of ages. Our youngest was 3 on our first trip. We went at the end of school each time. I think both times the kids missed a couple of days at school. We did both 7 day eastern and western. It is a nice trip for the whole family.
