an anyone recommend a taxi company that can take 7 of us from the airport (STT) to Cruz Bay to pick up our rental? Or will they only take us as far as Red Hook?
@walkmansky When you arrive at the St. Thomas airport you will find many shared taxi's. If you would like to book a private taxi in advance, take a look at our St. Thomas Taxi Section. The Taxi's will take you to the Red Hook ferry terminal where you will take a ferry to St. John. Most of the St. John Car Rental Agencies are located a easy walk from the ferry terminal.
Hey walkmansky. To get to St. John from St. Thomas you either have to take the ferry or hire a boat/water taxi. And to get from the St. Thomas airport to either the ferry dock or the marina the boat is at, you have to take a taxi. So plane, automobile, boat!

For larger parties or groups that want to travel together, the private service is the easiest way to go. With a water taxi, there is no waiting in lines or for the ferry schedule. We are also quicker in getting you to your destination. Because we are a private service, we can also offer beer, water, champagne, juice boxes at your request. (You can actually have an open container in the USVI and BVI...They know you are there to have a good time. You'll actually get into more trouble for not having your seat belt on than a beer in hand.)

Most water taxi pricing is based upon a minimum of four passengers. Price per passenger starts to go down when you get above the minimum. Not every water taxi also offers land taxi services. As a point of reference, for four people we charge $290 for the water taxi ride.
