Hello All,

After lurking for awhile, now I've decided to introduce myself. I am a travel nurse, upcoming assignment at the hospital in St. Croix. I am in need of a cheap one bedroom apt. for one month, April 18-May 18 for me and my poodle. Anyone have any ideas? I'm not interested in thrills...just basics......bathroom, bed, refrigerator......etc. I had someone tell me about St. Victory where I could live in a tree house for cheap (is the true...or are they pulling my leg??) . My girls are coming down after school is out and we are moving to a Villa we have rented for May-July. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Gypsy

Don't have apt info for you...but I am interested in your experience in travel nursing in the islands..
Have you done it before? Where are you from? What requirements do you have to have as far as licensure in order to work there? Also..what agency do you work for and have you found them helpful? Thanks for any info..I may have to look into this in the future..I am an RN in Texas...

Finding an apartment for a month with a dog will be challenging. If you will be working at the hospital, living at Mt. Victory will not be practical, it would be at best a 40-50 minute one way trip.

Try http://www.virginislandsrentals.com, they have monthly rentals.

Also, check out the Relocation Message Board if you haven't already; http://www.vimovingcenter.com/talk/.

My wife is an ER RN and she managed to get her USVI RN licence (full time license) when we were down ther last Dec. She has submitted her application for a 3 month stint for June-Aug. Feel free to send any questions or comments to her through my PM if you want. It was a very interesting process to get the license LOL Although the people at the Board of Nursing were very nice and very busy (renewal time was the end of the year) I think it just seemed tougher than it was because she was so anxious to get it while we were there.
