Hi! Does anyone know of natural insect repellants? We been to STJ several times and I always have problems with no-see-ums. Someone in a previous post had mentioned peppermint soap, but I can't find any where I live. How about eucalyptus and spearmint? Any suggestions would be welcome; I don't want to cover myself with something with a lot of DEET.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Lori Skin so Soft (an Avon product) works very well. You can get it at Wal Mart. No DEET
Hi Lori,
I have the same problem as you, bugs LOVE me 🙂 I just purchased peppermint bodywash and peppermint body lotion from The Body Shop I'm giving it a try next week !!
ps: my husband says I smell like a breath mint - oh well 🙂
LOTS of RUM 🙂
My husband reacts terribly to the skeeters and noseeums. For the past two summers, and trips to Mexico and BVI, he's had pretty good results with "Bite Blocker". It's a combination of different plant oils like geranium that do a great job of keeping the bugs off. I think he initially heard about it through the "Garden Guy" on NPR. We order it from Kokopelli Green Market in Vermont - www.kokogm.com, but if you do a search you may be able to find it somewhere closer to you.
We're looking forward to testing it in St. John - 81 days!!!
Good Luck!
