We're coming for 8 days starting on the 15th and staying at BlueBeard's. Are there any suggestions about places we "have to" eat/see/swim?
Also, what is everyone's favorite Beach Bar and what is the relative distance to the closest/nicest beaches. We rented a car so nothing is out of range really.
Thanks and sorry for the bevy of questions.

Hello Danny,

To swim/beaches: Magens Bay (if you are coming May 15th, pick a day for Magens when there are fewer cruise ships in port or none so you have a quieter atomosphere)
You can check the cruise ship schedule at

https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/getting_here/usvi_cruise_ship.php

Coki Beach (same things as above with the ships), nice beach and good for snorkeling. Visit Secret Harbor another day and have lunch at Blue Moon Cafe. Sapphire Beach you might do one day and return on Sunday afternoon for live music by a local band. With the rental car do some beach hopping, you might go check out Hull Bay, Dorothea, Brewers Bay, Emerald Bay... for a day of beach hopping and sightseeing and combine this with seeing Mountan Top, Drakes Seat and the island itself. Make a note of the beaches you like and then you can come spend a couple hours another day.

To See: the island - so an island drive, including the vistas and look out points. Historic sites in Charlotte Amalie. I am not a big shopper but Charlotte Amalie's shops and alleys are worth seeing and shopping. Snorkeling. Check out Paradise Point - you can drive up to it for the view and then go on Wednesday afterrnoon for happy hour and the tram ride is free for happy hour - nice place to see the sunset and have some drinks. Go to St. John one day - you can take your rental over on the car barge or there is a passenger ferry also. Do some beach hopping and hiking on St. John. You might spend a day over on Water Island - take the ferry over, hike a little bit, have lunch at Pirate's Ridge and then spend the afternoon on Honeymoon Beach before taking the ferry back.

Other restaurants - Banana Tree Grill for a nice evening; Tavern of the Waterfront; Bryans Bar and Grill for a nice/casual dinner, Blue Moon Cafe, Cuzzins for local food... lots of good food here!!

Nice beach bars - Secret Harbor, Sapphire (lots of fun on Sunday, you can drink, swim, dance, play volleyball), Iggies at Bolongo is fun as well.

Have a great time!! And be sure to post when you get back on what you did and your opinion!!
