I read that on Sunday afternoons there is music on Gibney Beach - does anyone know if this is still happening?
Hello Cathy O,
Just wondering; where did you read that? From time to time there are parties, ie. last year during St. John Carnival there was a beach jam, but it was on the Oppenheimer side of Gibney at the building that is there.
Anyone else have any information on this?

you might hear music or live bands from Gibney beach from time to time because you can contact the National Park Service and "rent" the building on the beach for an hour or a day at a time. As a result often you will see wedding receptions, local limin parties, and general good time get-together's throughout the season. The Park Service rental fee is about $50-100 bucks for the day just to monitor the use of the facilities but check into it cause i am not sure what the exact cost will be.

Hi Islander, I read on Destination St. John rental site for Gibney Beach... "On Sundays, local musicians gather at this beach to jam to the sounds of the Caribbean!"
Thought this would be great to enjoy on my trip to St. John this coming July. (5th trip to St. John)
Cathy
I don't think you can take this to mean that there will be musicians on Gibney on any particular Sunday, only that musicians have been known to jam there on the weekend.
