Good morning Islanders! Can't wait to get there on April 4th. I was wondering about purchasing some cd's. We LOVE Bob Marley (who doesn't) and was wondering if there was a place to purchase music along the reggae line.

New Yorker: I hope you will branch out and try some quelbe music, the official music of the Virgin Islands. Look for titles by Jamesie, Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights... On St Thomas there is a music store in Havensight Mall (Music Shoppe), one across the street (Modern Music) and one downtown (Parrotfish.)

New Yorker -
If you listen to Alex Randal's Podcast from Paradise (link is above) he sometimes plays a song of Malvern Gumbs, which is produced in the VI's. (STT I think). Its a real fun CD! I got mine at CDbaby.com

You can sample the songs before you purchase at that website.

I like "Jam Band" - it is calypso. It is not as mellow as some of the others - good for getting you movin'!

Inner Visions is a real good reggae band from STJ. They've been together for over 20 years. Here's the website:
