I just moved to St Thomas last week and was going to try to race this coming weekend in Virgin Gorda. Any cyclists out there who have information on the race or anybody at all have general information on the island? I was going to try to camp Saturday night if I can get a ferry over there sometime Saturday. Are there any ferries Friday or Saturday (all I've found is Thursday and Sunday)? I found some information on the island, but nothing about camping.

Also, I'm looking for any information on riding groups here on St Thomas. I heard about a Sunday morning ride from Wendy's. Details?

Thanks,
Paul

Oh, is that what those bikers were doing on Crown Mountain Road....

Paul--Have seen in that past few days a few stray bikers, but have heard nothing re. organized rides. Sorry.

I thought I had info. for biking but it was actually for running...

For those interested in that its

Perhaps if you called this running organization they might have information to share with you about biking organizations...

As for the ferry, what you found is right, the Virgin Gorda ferry only runs a couple days a week. Your only option would be to look into getting to Tortola and seeing if there is alternate ferries once on Tortola to get to Virgin Gorda... I am not familiar with the BVI inter BVI ferries.

Info. on the BVI bike races.
Call for more information Tel: 284-494-2359

The dates are.
Tour de Tortola June 5-6: BVI Cycling Federation,
Virgin Gorda Coppermine Challenge July 20: BVI Cycling Federation

Have fun, if you find out more, share it here perhaps others might be interested too.
