Sorry to be the bearer of dream-bashing news, but the US Virgin Islands is under the United States flag and under US Federal immigration jurisdicton. You will not be eligible to work here unless you have a green card, which, as I'm sure you know, is very difficult to obtain and entails a very lengthy process. The alternative is a working visa which is only granted under very special circumstances (i.e. if no US citizen can fill an employment position and the employer is willing to sponsor the non-US applicant and submit reams of paperwork in again a very lengthy process.)
Even if you legally married a US citizen this would not give you the right to work in the US. The length of time between marriage and the issuance of a green card can take up to three years.
In an effort to cover all bases, the British Virgin Islands have no reciprocal agreement with the UK as far as residency and working eligibility is concerned.
Sorry, Vonno, but that's it in a nutshell. Cheers!
