I talked with Maureen Ohare's grandson while I was living on St Croix and he stays at the house his family inherited from her. There is a famous basketball player who grew up on St Croix adn still has a house there, don't know his name though. There is also a musician who has a house on St Croix and a house in LA, can't remember his name either. There was an article about the musician in People magazine a couple years ago. But as far as St Thomas is concerned, I have no ideas about famous people living there. Goodluck in your search.

You can't possible forget Tim Duncan. A credit to his home and his sport (basketball).

Here are some more names: Victor Borge, famed Belgian pianist, lived on St. Croix; Leslie Caron's family lived(s) on St. Thomas and has the Caron make-up line and shop in C' Amalie. I think that Ms. O'Hara's house was around the Beeston Hill or above Golden Rock area of St. Croix. The basketball player you're referring to, I also forgot his name, lives around the East End of STX. The famed Baronness, whose house can still be viewed from South Shore/Grapetree/Divi, is on STX. The Baronness inherited the title from her husband. Fritz Henle, world renown photographer, lived on STX. One of the three partners of KKR lived on the east end of STX. Mrs. Alyce Kaiser, the wife/nurse of Henry J. Kaiser -- the billionaire who made his fortune during WWII with his shipyards in Oakland, CA --used STX as one of her residences. Geraldine Ferraro, I think she was the first woman to run as a VP, used to have a condo close to Reef Condos of STX. Another person, whose name escapes me, is a famous Jazz musician who played w/Duke Ellington; used to play at Buccanneer.

How's that for a short list?

I heard Kelsey Grammar (sp?) (Frasier) was born in STT, although he's in Hollywood now I think...lol.

I don't know if he was vacationing or what, but I'm almost positive NASCAR's Robby Gordon was on my flight to STT in first class two seats in front of me in Sept. I couldn't place him at first although he looked very familiar...but I'm pretty sure it was him...lol.

He was only on vacation in 1993, but Armond Assati, was at the Warehouse. I was playing pool and he and 2 other men were standing against the wall watching, and I said are you an actor, and he said, yes, and I said weren't you in Private Benjmane (sp) and he said wow, you have a great memory. and shook my hand. Then later I was at East Coast and he said, hello to me and bought me a beer. Love that guy. 🙂

.....Victor Borge was a Dane which is much of the reason he found his way to the islands.
