O.K., maybe it was the rum punch in San Juan the night before, but as we were sailing into Charlotte Amalie I swear I saw some mountain goats or sheep running wild on the side of the hill (small mountain?) on the first bit of land as the ship enters port. Am I setting myself up for jokes or what??
But seriously, has someone imported Rocky Mountain wildlife to St Thomas?
Or should I go and get some more rum?

Hello Beachcomber,

How was the cruise? and your stop in St. Thomas?

Yes there are goats here... not quite sure which hill you were looking at but its possiable. There are also deer here in small numbers. Stray dogs too... 🙂

Thanks, Islander... the hill is on the first bit of land on the port side of the ship as it sails into the harbour... it's also got that evil looking road that runs up to what looks like a weather station, or maybe a radio installation, at the top.

Anyway. thanks again.

That would be Hassel Island. Could be goats or sheep!!
How can you tell the difference?
