I have been planning to visit St. Croix for 3 years now. This year it will happen. In looking for accomodations, I found Mt. Victory Camp. Sounds nice, lots of solitude and the back to nature and seeing the island from the resident view. What does any one know about the place? Any experiences of having stayed there or insight?
Looking at June for maybe 2-3 weeks.
Thanks for your help.
Also, what became of The Breakfast Club? Heard it was for sale a while ago, are they still operational?
Hello Linda,
I've not stayed at Mt. Victory but have toured it, read the guest book, talked with the owner and some employees. Its a beautiful spot; really peaceful. The owners are friendly people. The tent cottages are really neatly constructed, they are somewhat open so bring insect repellent (I saw a bottle of Off in each cottage). They used mahagony from trees that fell during hurricanes; great workmanship. They do a pig roast on Sunday afternoons. I got a bit startled in the restroom- there was a little frog hanging out in the toilet paper roll. LOL 🙂 literally scared the crap out of me - LOL. Depending on what you are looking for the little tree frog might be just part of the experience and a good laugh or it might be appauling and you get turned off. If you are the latter, then this is not the place for you. Perfect for people who like camping, nature, the outdoors. There are hiking trails in that area and Bruce can tell you all about them and more. Definately a neat, interesting place! Oh they also have a vegetable garden and can tell you all about that, enjoy fresh local veges and fruits. Also have tortoises and ruins on the property.
