I'm sure the Ritz's brunch is very nice, but I can't imagine eating & drinking $74 pp worth. Any other suggestions for a nice Mother's Day meal?

If you want to come over to St. John, there is a beach party/fish fry out at Hansen Bay Campground. There will be food, drink, music, the beach and ocean, and lots of people. Same group of people who put on the "Beach Party Every Other Sunday" (earlier post). They are starting at 10:30 am and going until 6:30pm. They have lots of local favorite foods, bbq chicken, fried chicken, fried fish, stewed fish, conch, whelks, mutton, and Caribbean lobster with the usual provisions, rice and beans, plantains, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and johnny cakes. Plates (huge portions) go for $10-$15 except for the lobster which is done by size. It's a ton of fun with lots of great people.

That sounds pretty good. Are drinks available or BOB?

Drinks are available. A guy named Gold runs the bar end of it, SUPER nice guy. He does a great job of stocking, has just about anything you could want (aside from frozen drinks!). Wine, beer, liquor, juice, soda, water. I only drink red wine and he charged $4 for a glass of Yellow Tail, which is cheaper by a couple of bucks, than any other place I've been.

I had a lovely Mother's Day meal at Wikked last year. There was live Jazz music and a large choice of food, from burgers to Prime Rib! Something you might want to consider! BTW, Wikked also opened in St. John as well, so you can find them on either island!

There isn't a Wikked on St. John, but you might be talking about Spyglass that opened up where the Balcony used to be. Their lunch menu is, for the most part, Mexican.

I'm thinking Hansen Bay. It should make for a unique and memorable Mother's Day.

Gold just called me and gave me an update... Inner Visions will be playing at the party! They are a great local reggae band for those of you who have never heard of them. This is the link to their MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/innervisionsreggae They will start around 1 pm. a DJ will be playing when the band is not.
