The Westin studio villa was really nice. It was much larger than a hotel room at 500 sq.'. It had a king bed, a comfortable sleep sofa, a small kitchen with everything you'd need, and a washer and dryer unit which enabled us to pack fewer clothes (to make room for the canned goods). The deck overlooked the Westin bay and was very private. We enjoyed morning coffee and blender drinks at sunset (6:15 because they don't observe daylight savings time).

Golf cart shuttles run about every 10 minutes. It's a 4 minute trip to the pool. The grounds are immaculate, but the beach is just so-so. The kids liked the pool, floating trampoline, and floating iceburg. The poolside activities were a little lame and were repeated each day. My kids were a little older than the average age of 8. Iguana feedings were interesting and so was the Saturday night Caribbean buffet with the fire-eating man and Mocko Jumbi (sp?) woman. That was the only meal we ate there and it was fairly good. Adults are $38/each, but they let my kids eat free (even the 16 yr. old).

I met the governor's wife (Celeste??) and their kids, who were staying there from STT. She is really nice. She said her husband is working to get park land for a road that comes directly from Coral Bay to Cruz Bay that would enable emergency vehicles to cut 30 miinutes from the current northern route. Her oldest son is headed to American Univ. in Washington, DC next year. She is a graduate of Marquette Univ. in Wi and told of wearing her winter coat in Sept. and how she chose the univ. based on a brochure. She still goes back for reunions.
