Hi All,
We are staying at St Thomas for oly 1 night and then taking the ferry to Jost Van Dyke (Red Hook Ferry). Do you recommend an inexpensive to moderatly priced hotel near the ferry dock? We will only be there for one night so don't need anything too extravegant.
Thanks very much!
Annie

St Thomas is only 13 miles long. Red Hook is not that far away from town. On the East End you have Secret Harbor, Sapphire, Ritz Carlton, Sugar Bay, Point Pleasant. Nothing that inexpensive.

Sapphire is probably the closest, but Ron's right. Nothing is really that far from Red Hook

The one advantage to Sapphire is that it is a minute away from Red Hook. I'm not sure you would be able to rent from one of the owners for one night, but you may want to call them directly and book something for the night.

Sapphire gets good and bad reviews. Seems like some units are not kept up like others are.

Your best options for a one night stay would be Emerald Beach, Carib Beach or Island Beachcomber which are all close to the airport, or Windward Passage which is on the waterfront. Not on the East End but they'll be able to arrange for your next-day taxi transportation to Red Hook for the JVD ferry OR you could alternatively take the downtown ferry from waterfront Charlotte Amalie to Red Hook.

A one-night stay at any main resort won't be easy to find and probably isn't worth the hassle of even looking into. Ronusvi who posted here in response could also probably accomodate you at either his Villa Fairview or Crystal Palace locations above town, so throw him a PM too. Hope this helps. Cheers!
