I am an art teacher. This past spring I went to a convention in Minnesota. A workshop on making mocko jumbie wire sculptures was presented. The workshop was full so I did not get a chance to participate in it, but I did see the end products. The wire sculptures were absolutely beautiful. Since that time I have tried to get in contact with someone who can give me some type of guidance on how to make them. I'd like to make these with my students. This would be a great culminating project for a unit of sculpture.
Hello Liz,
I don't have a project guideline of any sort for this... however I do recall meeting Mr. Edney Freeman who was an artist and made such sculptures (I don't know if they are identical to the ones you saw) perhaps if you called him and explained your interest in making this a school project he might be willing to assist you. He was listed in the phone directory (340)774-9649 or (340)693-6604... Good Luck.
