Just looking through old honeymoon photos. Spent the best two weeks of my life in STT at the Wyndam Sugar Bay Resort. Six years and two boys later, I still miss it terribly! My husband and I hope to go back someday. Until then we will be enjoying the hot St. Louis summer and Cardinals baseball. I am remodeling our deck patio in a VI theme so I can have my own little STT retreat! So glad to know there are others who miss it as much as we do!

VI theme in St. Louis...you have to post a 'trip report' with pictures when finished. I figure a hammock, water feature, torches or string lights for sure but what do the neighbors think of all that sand?

Actually it is a VI theme in Belleville, IL.( jsut outside st. Louis)If it were up to me I would tear out all of the grass and have my own private beach, that's where my husband draws the line! Everything else is a go! Where did you stay in STT?

We have only 'stayed over' or day tripped STT, having rented on STJ. Doesn't matter which island , we miss the USVI.

🙂 Find myself having similar thoughts...my little girl looks at our pictures and sulks saying "i miss st. thomas..." I even asked her if she would rather go to Disney or St. Thomas again (she's 5 and been both places..>) she said St Thomas!!!! lol

Good luck with your deck/patio project. I’ll bet it will be beautiful and your neighbors will be jealous. My husband and I have the USVI Jones, too. Our home office is “island”, with margarita green walls, white furniture, rattan, island art / collectibles and blow-ups of our favorite photos. This past trip we met expat artist Mitch Gibbs and purchased one of his small prints which he graciously signed for us. Since returning we are trying to make space for one of his larger lithographs. His work is really beautiful – he has a website: www.mitchgibbs.com.

Hello-

I saw your post here and was curious if you had any contact information for Mitch Gibbs. We stayed at the Marriott in St. Thomas and met a woman who was selling his pieces. She said Mr. Gibbs had left St. Thomas and was now living somewhere in the NE US. We paid for a piece that has never been sent and we have tried the Marriott several times with no luck. If you do could you please e-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks

Hey Island Girl! I'm glad this post was moved up to the front! I live in STL, too! We have stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay twice now. We just took the kids (7 and 8 yrs old) this May. We love it!How's the progress on the VI themed deck? We live in Ballwin, MO - -Belleville isn't far! We'll bring the bushwackers and pictures 🙂

Go Cards!

FYI....www.cheapcaribbean.com has a great 5 night deal with air/hotel to Wyndham for $698/pp. American has some pretty reasonable flights lately through Miami.
