Wife and I are excited to visit St Thomas for the first time this late May. We got a Sapphire Beach condo, and we want to do plenty of drinking, lounging, snorkeling and did I say drinking? Can anyone give suggestions for a good time. Just want to have fun with fun people and few kids/tourists around.

Thanks

You will have a blast in St Thomas. Rent a car to be able to see more than just Sapphire. Great snorkeling and lots of interesting things to look at on Coki Beach. Check to see when the cruise ships are in because if there are two or more cruise ships in, Coki gets really crowded. If you don't rent a car, walk up the hill from Sapphire to the main road and catch a dollar taxi to get into Red Hook. Plenty of great bars to party at there and most have happy hour specials. Duffy's Love Shack is small but fun and often has entertainment. Tap and Saloon has great burgers for $10. Island Time is on the second floor of the Yacht Haven building and has really good pizza and a killer view of the marina.
It is always good manners to say "good morning or good evening" when you see folks. Different than saying "hello". A smile and a friendly attitude will take you far. Enjoy!

May is generally quieter as not much cruise ship traffic as in winter months.

You could go to a different beach every day and not visit them all. Indeed, rent a car and it will enhance your experience. Red Hook is a short distance but walking, especially at night not recommended. No sidewalks, lights, etc. Many nice bars and restaurants in the area. Lots of beach resorts and beach bars as well. Secret Harbor is very nice.

You can take you car on barge over to STJ for the day and explore. Not all rental car companies allow this so check beforehand. I know budget and dependable car do. (www.dependablecar.com)

Enjoy.

My wife and I also have a condo at Sapphire in May 18-26!!! We plan on doing lots of lounging on the beach, Red Hook exploring and drinking. Day trip to St Johns etc.. We are not renting a car.. no point.. plus rather relax and drink and not drive on the right side of the road not left or right.. or middle etc..

Cool. Yes, we rented out ground floor unit too.. not sure the building # but its E108 Beachtacular its on the rockier side of the beach.. but its all good. Great views and a minute walk to the sandy beach. Every time we cruised, we always visited Sapphire Beach... I hated looking at my the time to head back to the ship.. it depressed me.. therefore, this year its all St Thomas/Sapphire baby!!! Our 10th anniversary is May 19.. so it was perfect to book. Priced well too! Yes, we should communicate and meet up! We are in mid 30s, from Cleveland, Ohio.

Looks as if you are right next door to us (or just around the bend). We are in D109. We like that section of the resort due to the more private nature of the condos. We got a nice day trip 1/2 days trip to Magens Bay, another to Water Island and another on the CAT. Plus one full day on Kekoa for snorkel in St John followed by and evening of drinking in Cruz Bay. Most evenings will be spent on a beach somewhere with drink in hand. We most likely will spend a lot of time in Red Hook, but will be looking to hit Iggies, and Secret Harbor as well. We are 41 and 35 respectively, over there for our 1 yr anniversary on the 21st. We should def get in touch.

We also rent at the SBRM, no better spot to stay on STT.

Our favorite fun spot is Latitude 18 across from the American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook. Check their web site band schedule. Good food and fun people in a funky, open-air setting by the water. When Dick Solberg's Sun Mountain Band is there it's a great night.

Best pizza and bar = Island Time Pub. The Caribbean Saloon is next door as well.

Duffy's Love Shack is a must after Lat 18 for dancing and sing-alongs into the early hours, and fish bowl drinks for your wife!
