i thought i had a mask and snorkle at home from yonks ago but as it turns out my mum threw it out 🙁

they're fairly pricy to buy here so was just wondering if anyone has a rough idea how much a set would be to buy on STJ? save me renting one every time and be handy to always have one to hand at the beach etc!

cheers

This all depends on the quality you want to go with!
It is easier to get less expensive sets from STT....K-Mart, and Cost U Less, which are in the $40 dollar range. I bought a nice set in STJ years ago (for my kids) for $50each, but I am guessing you will definitely spend more than that for sure! Regardless, I think it worth the purchase. Not much help here, but at least I tried! 🙂

thanks sherri! i would only be using them for my time on stj so something like what you were saying sounds about spot on! not looking to spend a huge amount and $50 works out cheaper than here for a basic set!

thanks a million for the info.

We purchased two sets for our trip at the local Sports Authority store. They had sets ranging from $40 to $80. We settled on a mid range sets that were about $50 ,which is what it cost to rent them for a week on STJ. You can also locate them at Dick's Sporting Goods or just about any of the sporting goods chain stores in your area. We figure they would pay for themselves and you don't have to waste time trying stuff on and returning it when you could be out snorkeling. Just make sure everything fits, we tried ours out the local pool just to make sure.

if $50 is what i'd be spending to rent then buying one is definitely a sound investment as i'm lucky enough to be staying 4 weeks! we don't have a dicks sports shop here so i'll hold out till i get to stt....thank you all for the input!
