Just read that the old boarded Renaissance Grand Beach hotel is going to be opened up as a new Margaritaville Resort by Wyndham with construction starting later this year. Should be a very good thing for St. Thomas.
I tried to put the link on this message but could not figure out how to do it. If you want to read the story go to www.buffettworld.com
Wyndham bought it around 2007. It will definitely be good to see the property renovated and back in operation.
PS: Mike, you should be able to just post a link and have it work. It needs to have the http part in there to make it active.
Here's an updated article:
Any link to info you may know of on who may be engineering/arch design or lead project management for the development?
No. But I bet they are getting EDC credit. I think it's weird that the name of the investment bank (temporary owner) is not being made public. Especially since they are the ones to (temporaitly) hold the coastal development permit and benefit from EDC relief. I salo wonder what the price point will be for the new time shares.
Timeshares - Ugh!
Work has already started.
Pineapple Beach is being cleaned.
The restaurant is being worked on.
Worked stared about 2 weeks ago.
