This map was VERY helpful to us for our first visit, and it is highly likely it will be helpful for all upcoming visits as well.

Thanks for the replies the maps are beautiful. What I need now is the same type of map that shows the hill names, the bay names so when I find a villa I can look at this map and see right where it is. Kinda a generic map to just print off and keep with my St. John stuff.

The Trail Bandit map is great too. Here's the list of maps that I reference all of the time: http://www.garvin.us/STJ/STJ_Maps/STJ_Maps.html

Cheers, RickG

2 people and under $1300.00/week in June 2009. Would be nice at have at least air in bedrooms and or small dipping pool. Private villa verses condo or apartment. I know tall order thats why I havent found anything before now. lol

So, you would prefer a private villa for around $1300 with a pool? Are condos completely out? That's a tall order, but I think there a few options out there...

Now that you've looked at the maps, did you have a particular area in mind or were you negotiable?

Well, the island is small enough so I dont care where we really end up. Cruz Bay to Coral Bay or in between. Im just so excited to be coming back.

Serendip should suit you fine!

d'oh! Reread that you want a private as opposed to condo or apartment - so... never mind 🙂

This isn't completely private, but the owners keep their distance, from what I understand. It's been highly recommended to me: www.mylunavista.com

Private Homes for Private Vacations, which is where we're renting, has several places around $1,500/week. I know that's a little more than what you wanted to spend, but they might be worth a peek. They're great to work with.

I'll keep an eye out and see what else I can find that might fit the bill for you. I got to the point for this trip that I was pretty sure I'd even be happy if I had to sleep in the Jeep for a week!

lmcneil1125:

My husband and I have stayed at Villa Cielomar for our last 2 trips to STJ and really enjoy it there. It is walking distance into Cruz Bay. There is A/C in the master bedroom. And there is a pool that is shared with a condo building (3 units) right next door. However, we have never had anyone else from the condos at the pool the same time we are and we used it a lot. So, it gives the sense of a private pool. And the place is very affordable. Here is their website...

Enjoy your trip!!!!
