Funny you should ask as I am heading there with my 2 kids in July and just finished the reservations. We stayed at the Westin last time and my brother and his kids stayed at Maho. When we visited him there for the day once, my then 5 yr old and I snorkeled out to the tall sea grass in the middle of Maho and saw the giant sea turtles. My brother and his kids by far had the better time all around, but he did stay in the ecco tents which is a bit more primitive than the heavenly bed, so i was one up on him sleep wise. So as to be able to sleep we are staying in the Harmony studios which have a bit more comfort and I'm sure those will do us fine. Looking forward to some great adventures and exploring this summer.

I know maho bay is more basic, but we don't want to feel like we are uncomfortable. I thought the studios looked like the best option too. Thanks for the info

If its not too late to respond- we took our older kids there twice and each time I wondered how people with kids under 5 managed it. Be prepared for the stairs and how they can wear out little legs. If you like camping, you'll like Maho but you'll be up early in the AM and again, with the heat, the constant walking up and down the stairs to and from the commisary and the beach might wear on your younger kids.

I've read where Cinnamin Bay is a good alternative if you don't think the stairs at Maho would suit your family.
Cinnamin Bay has cabins real close to the beach and they say families love it there!
I have not stayed at Cinnamin Bay myself but there are quite a few people on this board who have.
