We went to Magens Bay in May..but my question is...is their snorkeling there?

May sound like a stupid question, but when we went to Magens, it just seemed like it was smooth sand, some fish swimming around and no coral.

The snorkeling in Magens is found at the far ends of the beach (North and South), but you need to swim out quite a way before it gets any good. And they DO rent gear there, but I never see anyone going where the snorkeling is any good. I guess beacuse they don't know where to go. If you want to go snorkeling, there MANY other places to go that are MUCH better. Magens is mostly a swimming and sunning beach.

Like Marty said most folks dont swim out to where the snorkeling is good. I used to snorkel out there for exercise and if you are willing to go about 400yds+ on the west end you will see some great snorkeling most days. I used to love it because nobody was out there except myself and my snorkel partner. Now I snorkel for exercise at Secret Harbour and that is definitely better and still not too many people around.
