I was just hoping someone could help me out here. My husband and I are going to St. Thomas during February. We are staying in the Mafolie Hotel. We were just hoping that perhaps someone else has stayed here or knows of the hotel. I think it would ease our minds just to hear of someone else who has perhaps stayed there or has heard about it. THanks in advance for any and all input.

Hello,

A co-worker in my office stayed there about 4 years ago. He really loved the place. He said the view was absolutely incredible (800 feet above sea level). Check out their old website. Do a search on Mafolie hotel and you'll see a few sites for it. Find the one that has Lindy's restaurant in it. They have some great pictures of the place with the pool and the deck where you eat. The restaurant has been closed and the new one is just about to open if it already hasn't. I'm the one who had the post a few back (under Bruce) on Malfolie's hotel restaurant. I know within the past 2 years they've had new ownership. I was suppose to stay there last year but had to cancel. My girlfriend and I will be staying there this coming April. The couple that own the hotel now are originally from Germany. They were living in Florida before they bought the hotel and with the help of their daughter and son-in-law run the place now. I've talked to the woman a few times who owns the hotel and she couldn't be nicer. I can't wait to be there with that breathtaking view! When you get back it would be nice to hear your review of the hotel and restaurant. Maybe someone visiting the island or living on the island will read these posts and visit the restaurant. Then maybe they'll give us their review. Enjoy.

One small correstion. The woman you speak with is from Germany. Her husband is American, grew up in St. Thomas. His Mom taught at the public high school for eons. He, with his wife have come home to run the hotel they bought. They have recently reopened the restaurant. I think their daughter and son in law have gone back to Florida, I could be wrong on that one. Have not heard any restaurant reviews as yet. Hope to check it out real soon!
