Visiting STT and STJ for the first time May 1 to May 9. Can't wait! Spending the first night in Charlotte Amalie at the Best Western Caribe hotel by the airport, then leaving on May 2 for STJ. Just discovered Carnival will be happening in St. Thomas when we arrive. If we take a taxi to the ferry dock from our hotel, is there anywhere to store our luggage at the ferry dock, so that we can enjoy some of the Carnival atmosphere without our luggage before heading off to STJ. Thought about leaving luggage at hotel, taxiing to town, spending a few hours enjoying the Carnival and then taxiing back to the hotel, picking up our bags just to taxi back to the ferry dock, but this seems a little cumbersome. Any thoughts? Thanks!

We ask at the ferry dock for them to store our luggage on the way to the airport so we can shop you could try that and see if they will do iit for you.

Ask your taxi driver. They stored our luggage at the taxi stand for a couple of hours. We were headed from the Red Hook ferry and taxied to CA to kill a couple of hours. They were happy to do it for us. We only had to use the same taxi company when we headed from CA to the airport. They didn't even expect a tip. Of course they got one though.

If you ask a taxi driver they charge an outrageous fee around $30 bucks an hour.
go the the Iguana visitor center in downtown Charlotte Amalie. It it one block off the main street. You can easily find it on line
Call them, They have stored bags for $2 a bag for all day. They have a changing room and refreshments too.,
Your luggage will be locked and secure at the visitor Center, then you will just be withing walking distance to the downtown ferry to St John when you are ready to go.

I've never had a taxi driver charge me for keeping my luggage nor has anyone else that I have know do it - they have always been happy to do it for free - you just arrange a time and meeting place.
