Hello from Lng Island
I trying to find out about camping in Hull bay I had a friend Larry LaPlace who owned Larry's Hidaway. My old girlfriend would go down in the 80's there I cut his grass and she would mix and serve drinks at his card games he'd give us his guest room. At night we would walk up the hill to Bryans bar where this cook Russle cooked some awsome burgers, great jukebox.
I also played in a band at the Greenhouse, knew "Sunny" and Denzel renting the $29 Jeeps in St.John
I cant seem to find out what became of it all can someone help
Im also looking for Mike "Mick" Shipley

Joe you should post this on the relocation board. Hull Bay Hideaway has different owners so theres no camping there anymore. Not sure if Sunny is still at Green House. Maybe on the relocation board some one may be able tohelp you!

And Bryan's Bar is now "The North Drop" - one of my favorites!! I'm sure the ownership has changed - but the food is delish.

I'm sure you'll find Larry. Nobody totally disconnects.

Yes,

The burgers are still there, greasy and good. Eating one with a cold brew while sharing a conversation with some frenchie fishermen is a great way to spend an afternoon.

Tho Larry doesn't own Hull Bay anymore, he is still very much there! And Yes, Arthur is still making the wonderful greasy burgers! Some changes, but certainly not many! Locals still go over to the Inner Brass on certain holidays and pitch their tents there! Also Mandahl Beach is popular for the locals to set up camp now and again!
And Blu is right, North Drop puts out a great meal! 🙂

Hi. Larry sold the Hideaway about 10 years ago. Still there .... no camping, but the burgers and surf and everything have survived .... still have horseshoe toss, and volleyball, and food. E&M is no more, sold .... not the same atmosphere, and too much building on north side and all over. But you'd recognize it.

Sorry don't know your friend.

I would imagine the Denzil is Denzil Clyne. We rented his villa on Tortolla, Johnny Hill Villas and rented cars from him as well. I think he has a rental car company on ST. John. I wanted to rent from him for our upcoming trip to St. John in April but never received any response to my emails.

Hi just to let you know that Larry is still on Hull Bay...he has a house there near the Hideaway...it was sold twice now I belive. I am Larry's neice and haven't seen him in a few years. My sister travels there often. Larry is fine. I don't know if you knew his brother Rudy...he passed away end of last year. Both my parents are from St. Thomas and we have lots of family there. Most of the other people you mentioned I don't know.
