Good afternoon,

Looking for info on Compass Point Marina STT and the area for a holiday boating trip.
Dock slip comfortable during Dec - Feb months haven't looked at the map to see if it is protected area.
Are there any restaurants or grocery stores in the area?
Beaches for kids and grandparents?
Rental car drop off points?

Thanks for your thoughts!

It's a very protected area located in the Mangrove Lagoon and not far from Red Hook for shopping, restaurants, hotels, beaches, etc.
Rent a car, tho as you'll need one to get around..
Do so in advance as Feb. is an extremely popular vacation time due to Valentine's,President's week, etc.
Most car rental agencies have monthly rates.
You should call Compass Pt. to see if they will have any slips available, however.
Check what the depth at docks are if you have a deep draft boat.
The same company owns Independant Boat Yard across the way.
Call 340-775-6144

They may have slips available at Independant Boat Yard and also at Sapphire marina which is located at Sappgire Beach.

Good afternoon,

Once again looking for info on the general area, however this trip is planned for summer. (Ps we ended up in the BVI's on the New Years trip) With that in mind, wondered what condos are closest to the Compass Point Marina area heaven forbid we need to pull the boat for awhile and postpone the boating trip. Wasn't sure if Secret Harbor or others.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Secret Harbor, Cowpet Bay (East & West), Anchorage, Ritz Carlton, Sapphire Bay, Pavillions & Pools are all nearby, just depends on size of rental/condo you may need.
You'll still need a car but there are also safari buses that run along the route on the main road.
Check your insurance company for coverage on your yacht as I have friends that cannot have their yacht here after May thru end of hurricane season/Nov.

If you are thinking of having work done you should call Independant Boat Yard to see if they can schedule you. If you're looking for dock space you can check Compass Point, Independant Boat Yard and also American Yacht Harbor/Marina or Sapphire Marina (all on east end).
There are some smaller places as well but depends on draft of your boat.
All are pretty well protected just depends on what your budget might be.

Good Luck.

Sugar Bay Resort, Pineapple Villages are also located on East End.
You can also check on www.vrbo.com and www.flipkey.com for rentals by owners in the majority of resorts named and privately owned vacation rental homes on the East End.

There is a grocery store just down from Independant Boatyard that has a great selection of items but very pricy. It's good to shop around.

Thanks so much for all the great info. Will start the emailing and calling today! We love docking and staying at Sapphire, but looking at plan B for the boat if we need to haul out.

Thanks again for all the help!
