Wife and I are arriving on a cruise ship in St.Thomas and would like to no the best place to spend a few hours relaxing and swimming in St.Johns. Could someone suggest a good tour, as we have heard a great deal of nice things about St.Johns such as Buck Island, Cinnamon Bay and Trunk bay. We are leaving on 26th and will arrive in St.Thomas on the 30th. Thanks for any information you can offer us.

First, it is St. John. I would go to Cinnamon for the day - beautiful beach and nice facilities. Just take a taxi to the ferry, then when you get off the ferry in Cruz Bay take a taxi to Cinnamon.

Hello Boomer,

You can find the cruise ship pier to St. John "directions" at the bottom of this page (cut and paste the link)

Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay or Caneel Bay for lovely beaches with good facilities. Cinnamon Bay is a good choice as it offers the beach and hiking right across the road.

If you want a driving tour the taxi folks waiting right at the ferry dock can assist you.

My husband and I are taking an Eastern Caribbean cruise which includes Antigua, St. Johns. We would love to go to Cinnamon Bay for the day. How is the best way to get there? We will be there the last week in Feb.

Donna told how to get to Cinnamon in St. John, USVI. If you are going to St. Johns , Antigua, I have no idea if there is a Cinnamon Bay there or how to get to it!

I think you're confused. You're referring to St. John's, Antigua which is the captial there. St. John does not handle large cruise ships, so it's likely you have the wrong island in mind. Also, it's St. JOHN, not St. JOHN's.

Hello Roberta,

While St. John in the United States Virgin Islands does get a few cruise ships anchored closeby, you mentioning Antigua indicates a completely different island.

There is St. John, USVI and St. Johns Antigua.

Have a great time wherever you are cruising to 🙂
