I'm getting married in December 2004 on St. Thomas. I bought a package wedding (cake, site, etc.) but was told by my wedding planner that it was too hot in St. Thomas for the specialized marizpan cake I'd like. I would like to find some local bakers if anyone has reccomendations. Thank you in advance.

Congratulations. It is not too hot in December for the cake you want. Marzipan holds up in the hottest months down here. Try Frank's Bake Shop.
He does beautiful wedding cakes and is very inexpensive. 340- 714-2253

what is the "specialized" cake you are having made?

my daughter is getting married at the Ritz in June; I would be interested in your cake plans and the results.

Congratulations!!!

My fiancé and I are planning to get married in St Thomas in December 2005, so we are right after you guys 🙂
I am trying to research lots of things right now, but since you are so familiar with the island, could you please give me some advise:

1. I was thinking of renting out a villa with a beautiful view for about a day and having both the ceremony and the reception there. I checked out a few options that the wedding planners offer on their websites, but not sure if their packages include exactly what I want. Where are you getting married? Do you think it is a good idea to get married on a villa and have the cateting/reception there?

2. Where are you planning on having your ceremony? Do you have a wedding planner? Could you recommend a good agency?

3. As we have about 10 people flying in with us, I was thinking of reserving a hotel for all of us. The question is - would you recommend a nice but not too pricy hotel? The big question is whether it is worth to buy an all-inclusive package with food or is it better to buy food separately and dine out?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you so much!
-Olga.

Olga, Ii would be more fun to buy food seperately and dine out. You will able able to sample different types of food as well as enjoy varied restaurant ambiances as well. Best of luck!
