I am coming to the islands for 1 week late May. I would prefer to stay on St. John but I understand it is more expensive then St. Thomas. Does anyone know of a place with air conditioning, cable tv, kitchen etc. that would be around $1,000 for the week? I know I am probably dreaming but it can't hurt to ask.

There is a great place if you don't mind being in Coral Bay. It is opposite Skinny's and has A/C, TV, living area (nice sofa's etc)kitchen, bathroom, queen size bed downstairs and a "loft" bedroom up a "ladder" and more importantly it is CLEAN. Here is the link - and I believe it's approx $140 to $150 per night (I think) it's worth a phone call anyway. http://towncountryusvi.com/short_term_rentals.shtml

Sorry, I forgot you need to click on "short term rentals" on the link, or, you can contact www.windspree.com and they can answer questions for you. I did check the rates and it is $145.00 per night.
