I am looking for an out of the way beach. I mostly try to avoid crowds like at Trunk Bay. We just want to do some diving and crashing in the sun, but like to be away from others if at all possible.

Are their secret beaches that I might not have found yet? We have done all the listed beaches on StJ. We don't mind hicking a distance to get their, however our tanks get very heavy after a while.

Any suggestions?

We had a blast at Jumbie Beach a couple of years ago. Not a soul there. We also went to Salt Pond Bay last year and again, not a soul there.

What islands are you talking about? Sounds like you've already covered STJ. Are you talking about all surrounding islands, including BVI?

Hello Cheryl,

Some of the not as frequented beaches on St. John include Salomon and Honeymoon (you have to hike to them), Jumbie, Gibney and Maho often are quieter, Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur are road/trail accesable but often not very popuated. Leinster Bay and Waterlemon Cay are also usually quiet. You said you'd been to all the listed ones... have you been to all of these?

Thank you for all the great ideas!

I have been to all except Solomon and Gibney. I have to get to it! We stayed in Coral Bay last year in Johnson Estates and had our own beach front. That was soooo nice.

We also like Jumbie but were not alone. Leinster Bay was crowded....BY PELICANS! We were the only people there for a while. IT is very entertaining watching the birds fish.....SPLASH!

Thank you!

Hello Cheryl,

How was the villa you stayed at last year? Are you staying there this time also?

Hawksnest Bay Beach on St.John is a personal favorite. A photo of it resides on the homepage of my photo website!

We loved the villa so much but it was already rented this year so we are pioneers once again. So far we have been to 4 other houses. This year Chocolate Hole. Hows the view?
