I'm wondering if any of the local musicians give lessons. My husband is a professional musician (drummer), and he has a teaching studio himself, but we were thinking if we could get him to take some sort of lesson (steel drums, anything really) we could right off his part of the trip. 😉 Does anyone know if the local musicians give lessons?
That should be "write off." Gah! You'd never know I'm a writer for a living, would you? 😉
I do some business in the VI's and definitely don't have the guts to write off a portion of the vacation.
Here's something to consider for your husband. There is some great jazz at the Beach Bar on Sundays from 4.30 to 7.30. Have him come over and he might even be able to sit in on a set.
And, if you get to Jost, definitely have him sit in at Ivan's Stress Free Bar. Don't be surprised to see celeb artists
Promo, because he's a musician, he can write off nearly everything...CDs, concerts, trips where he takes/gives a lesson (it would be a "working" trip), etc. We have an accoutant that specializes in taxes, etc. for musicians, and all is good. 🙂
Thanks for the suggestions! Though I don't know if he sat in, if that would work. I'll definitely check with our accountant though. And I think he'd love to sit in with those anyway! Especially the jazz, he loves jazz.
