Arriving on a Sunday, question begs to be asked: are liquor stores open on Sunday on St. Thomas? Can you buy beer, wine and liquor in grocery stores or do you have to buy it in ABC stores?
You can buy liquor, beer and wine any day of the week at many places. They even sell liquor at the airport and K-Mart!
What are ABC stores?
The only time you can't buy liquor here is on Good Friday up until 4PM and that applies to both stores and bars.
The best selections and prices are at CostULess in Market Square East off Rte 38 (but they don't sell 6-packs of either beer or water, only cases) or further up on Route 38 at Plaza Extra in the Tutu Park Mall which also is the home of the "big" KMart store. KMart is often touted by visitors as having the best prices but as a VERY longtime resident I beg to disagree and their selection is also pretty limited compared to CULess and Plaza.

Coming of age in Virginia I never got to go to the ABC store, but a short drive over the Key Bridge into Georgetown, District of Columbia I could buy all I needed at Eagle Wine and Beverage at the tender age of 18.
