Your help please...
Six of us will be arriving in March with for a sailing charter. Will we be able to find a taxi at the airport that can accomodate all six of us... along a a good bit of luggage, fishing gear and several guitars. OR do we need to arrange for a driver with van or limo in advance of our trip?? If so, can you provide names and phone numbers of appropriate companies?
Thanks for your help.
jerry,
Most of the taxis at the airport are vans and six people with the gear you describe should be fine.
We have been chartering a boat & sailing US&
B-VI every other year with never less than 2 other couples for a total of 6 persons. Those taxi vans at the airport are so huge you will not have any trouble getting all your stuff and all your people into one. Also, have the driver stop at Pueblo on the way so you can get your provisions and not have any more stops to make before sail. If you get there later in the afternoon, Christmas Cove is a great first anchorage very close / won't take much time to get there while there's still daylight - rather than having to stay in the marina your first night.
For the taxi: Talk to the bald guy with the clipboard @ the airport. He's "THE MAN". HELPFUL TIP: Wait until you have all your checked baggage in one spot & ready to go before you talk to THE MAN. My experience is he doesn't want to SEE you until you have all your stuff ready to go.
