Hello All:
My husband, 13 year old son, and I are planning to return to St. Thomas for a family vacation. We are interested in touring the BVI. I read that some people enjoyed Limnos Tours. Does anyone have an idea of the rates?

Thanks!

Counting the days :0 )

We did a Limnos trip in August. We went to VG and it was something like $110 pp. check the site.

We had a lot of fun. The day was a little structured and hurried for my taste, but there's a lot of water to cover from STJ to VG to Norman Island and back. There were only like 20 people on the boat, so it had a very uncluttered feel. I'd be wary of what it would be like on a full boat though.

Drop me a line and I can send you my report from that day. It's posted on my horribly immature and not ready for primetime blog.

From what I've seen, Limnos is a little cheaper than some of the others, and their price includes lunch. I know of one other that stops for lunch at a restaurant (Marina Cay), so you have to pay.

I did Limnos on Thanksgiving, and it was approx $110 pp plus the $20 to BVI customs. It included everything - breakfast treats (NO COFFEE!), bar, lunch buffet with cold cuts and salads.

It is hurried if you stick with the guide (male on my trip), but he was also trying to beat the ship tour that was coming in right behind us. Try to schedule your trip when there are no cruise ships docking in Tortola.

Try to corner the guides so they'll tell you more about what you're passing. It can be kind of hard to hear the narration over the wind and motor.

There were several kids onboard when I went, and they had a ball (younger than 13, though). Try to book with a group that has other teens onboard so everybody can be happy. Just ask if other teens are scheduled when you call to make your reservation.
