Limetree Hotel no longer exist. It used to be on Limetree Beach on the south east side of St. Thomas. It is now the Bluebeards Beach Club Time Share... some people still call the beach Limetree others call it Bluebeards after the time share property.

My husband and I are coming to st thomas and are staying at the BLUEBEARD BEACH AND RESORT. We have been unable to get much info on the property. When I read your response to Limetree I thought you may know something about it.
WHAT IS THE BEACH LIKE?
DO THEY HAVE A RESTAURANT?
DO YOU RECOMMEND A RENTAL CAR
WHAT IS THE BEST AND CHEAPEST RENTAL AGENCY? (LOOKING FOR IZUZU)
Anything else you know will be most appreciated. We are coming in May..

thank you for your time!!

Hello Steve and Kathie,

Rick and Deb which I noted in the subject stay there - so I hope they will comment on the property.

The beach is small, rocky... very nice to sit at and read, enjoy the quiet of an island day, beautiful sunsets. There is a picture of the beach in the St. Thomas - Beach Guide... its listed as Limetree Beach. For swimming and spending a lot of time in the water I would recommend beach hopping to another beach. On St. Thomas visit beaches like Magens Bay, Secert Harbor, Sapphire Beach... Not sure how long a visit you have.

Go over to St. John as well - and drive around the island. Rent a car on St. Thomas, take it over with you to St. John via the car ferry so you can see St. John. Beaches and highlights; island drive stopping at look outs for photos and view, Trunk Bay, Hawksnest, Cinnamon Bay, Annaberg Plantation, Cruz Bay-the town for looking around and restaurants - Coral Bay for the same reason.

Car rental yes I would suggest you rent a car - it allows for more freedom to sightsee, try different restaurants - lots of great ones in the VI. Try posting a request for Favorite restaurants on St. Thomas if you would like some suggestions. 🙂

OPPS - Here is the one you were talking about. Here is a reposting of my message just for insurance. (It is too early in the morning)

It all depends on the interests of the teenager. My kids love the beach and swimming in the pool so that takes up a good deal of free time. We always rent a vehicle and travel from place to place exploring all the local spots, beaches and eateries as well as a day or two on St. John doing the same thing. There is good news and bad news about staying at the Beach Club. As with any time share place they want to sell you something. The good news is that you don't have to buy anything to get the gifts. The one we always use is the day sail aboard New Horizons II which is a sailboat out of Sapphire Marina that takes you on a very enjoyable sail/snorkel trip to St. John. My kids always think this is one of the high points of the trip. The last time we brought the kids there was a para-sail boat at the Beach Club for one day and my son did that also. They have tennis courts but I've never seen anyone playing. Other than that there is little to do there. Most people go for the quiet and beaches. It isn't a party island like many of the other resort islands. We have always found that it was mandatory to have a rental car. We like to control our own destiny and not rely on taxi cabs. We rent from Dependable Car Rental. It is a small family operation rather than a huge corporation. They have always gone out of their way to help me out even the year I messed up the reservations and they didn't have a car for me (they got one on only a 3 day notice). They pick you up at the airport (call them before you get your bags) and will bring you back on that horrid day when you leave to go home. http://www.dependablecar.com Tell them we said hello if you call them.
