*We honeymooned at the Limetree Beach Resort in 1977. Is the establishment still there? Is it under a new name? Also, down the beach toward Frenchman's reef was a beachside restaurant called the Sea Shanty. It was a fabulous place which made our vacation a serendity. Is it still there? We are planning a February return and would be interested in reliving part of that special time.

Limetree Beach Resort is now Bluebeard's Beach Club, a timeshare resort. There are rentals available through extraholidays.com. It underwent a major renovation in 2000 and although the layout of the resort and buildings is the same, the rooms have been renovated and their exteriors modified a bit. It is a very quiet, laid back resort. There is a restaurant on the premises, Mim's Limetree Bistro. I've been going there every year since 1997 and have never seen a restaurant called Sea Shanty.

Wow! You are going to see some changes at Morning Star Beach! No more Sea Shanty (although I believe that the sign is part of the memorabilia at Molly Molone's in Red Hook.) Now there is an upscale hotel there with a beach bar, Coco Joe's and a new restaurant, Havana Blue. It is very different from the 1977 Morning Star.
