DW and I will be there Oct 4-11! Can'ty wait! . Not real thrilled with our flight from here in Austin to STT - we had resevations with AA that had us arriving 3:30pm (tu) -- but with some of their cut backs, now we get in at 8:05pm.(td) A bit later then we'd like, but It'll still work out just fine. We're celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary after being married there on the beach at Magens Bay 10 years ago. :@)

We did a timeshare exchange for Bluebeard Castle there, which we see has mixed reviews. Sounds like they do have a couple of good restaraunt there. Maybe we'll bump into some VINOW'ers there or abouts.

Just put us anywhere on the island and we'll be more than happy! Even if it rains. 🙂 We've reserved a rental car with AVIS to get around the STT beaches and sites, and plan on a day to Trunk and maybe Cinnamon Bays for some snorkeling on St. John.

Have a great time, magga and alisha!

Hey Alisha: we are staying at the Marriott Frenchmans Cove, never been it is our first trip......................all i want is the sun and pina colada's.......................its a quick trip less than a week just a short break from work. Weather is looking good.....................

We didn't rent a car yet we can't decide who to go with, we plan on hanging at the beach at the Marriott and just relaxing......................definitely want to go over on the ferry to St. John and see megans bay...............maybe a few nights out at nice restaurant but not much else planned we figure if we like it then we'll come back and stay longer and do more sightseeing then.

I'm not sure may do some shopping but I don't know what they have there, I am going to New York city with my girlfriends in November so I'll be doing the whole shopping thing then so not really going to shop too much.

Please let it be sunny ..............................

My personal opinion is that you do get a car and get around the island some so you can see if you want to come back. If you want to get up to Magens, go out to dinner and maybe a few other things, the car will probably be less expensive the hiring cabs.

As far as shopping, jewelry and liquor seems to be the big thing in St. Thomas, but in Charlotte Amalie...it's just store after store after store. Don't get me wrong, I like to shop, but alot of the stores end up looking the same. I like Havensite more, it wasn't so overwhelming.

Anyway, have a great time and enjoy !

Hi
Thx ..we will enjoy our trip as long as the weather stays decent... We are staying for 2 nights at pavilions and pools and the rest of the time at a condo in Sapphire Village..have a car rental lined up and currently our luggage is almost packed...and we have a few days to go before we depart! 🙂 Also planning a trip to Trunk for some snorkeling...and quite possibly a day trip as suggested by our very own VINOW traveller 'notahippie'..a day sail with Captain Jini! . ( Excellent trip report by the way!) Also a lovely dinner at Mafolies is planned ..as this is our delayed/belated honeymoon trip! Looking forward to some R & R. ...we are counting away the hours now!

Happy Travels!
🙂
